As a creative, there are certain nights that just stick with you—and last Wednesday at the historic Laugh Factory in Los Angeles was definitely one of them.
I had the incredible opportunity to be hired to shoot for Nate Jackson, easily one of the hottest comedians in the game right now. If you’ve been following comedy lately, you know Nate is a force of nature, especially when it comes to his crowd work. Being asked to capture the taping of his latest Crowd Work YouTube Special was a huge honor.
The vibe in the room was electric from the moment the doors opened. Nate didn’t just sell out one show; he sold out three separate shows back-to-back on a Wednesday night. That kind of pull is rare, and the energy in the room matched the hype.
Watching him work is a masterclass in improvisation. Since it was a crowd work special, nothing was scripted. It was just Nate, the audience, and pure, unfiltered comedy. Capturing those spontaneous moments—the reactions, the roasting, the quick wit—kept me on my toes the entire night. The laughter was deafening, and the atmosphere was exactly why I love doing what I do.
It was an insane night of comedy history in the making, and I’m so stoked I got to be a part of it.
