Adobe Substance Days at Siggraph was Awesome!

I had an amazing experience at Adobe Substance Days at SIGGRAPH 2025! Held at the Paradox Hotel in Vancouver, the event was a fantastic opportunity to dive deep into the world of 3D design and connect with other professionals in the industry.

Learning from the Best

The day was packed with valuable insights, starting with an exclusive keynote from a lineup of Adobe’s top minds, including Guido Quaroni, Pierre Maheut, Laura Vitolina, Wes McDermott, and Nathan Carr. We got a sneak peek at new developments in Substance 3D, learned about the latest research projects, and saw how open USD is being used to streamline workflows in major companies.

Connecting with Industry Leaders

One of the highlights was the panel discussion on OpenPBR. It was moderated by Adobe’s Pierre Maheut and featured a stellar group of industry experts: Frederic Servant from Autodesk, Rick Barrett from Maxon, Sebastien Miglio from Epic Games, and Eric Pagtaconan from Disney. Hearing their perspectives on the future of 3D and the importance of open standards was incredibly inspiring. It was a great reminder of how collaboration is shaping the next generation of creative tools.

Getting Hands-on with the Future

The reception was the perfect way to cap off the event. I had the chance to get hands-on with the latest features and tech at the demo pods and speak directly with the Substance 3D team. This hands-on knowledge of what’s ahead in the design industry was invaluable and gave me a fresh perspective on how to incorporate new tools and workflows into my own projects.

Overall, Adobe Substance Days at SIGGRAPH was an unforgettable experience. I left feeling inspired, knowledgeable, and excited about the future of 3D design. I can’t wait to see what next year brings!
